The Float Pool provides a unique opportunity for caregivers to support diverse patient populations across multiple units, departments, and locations. As an RN in the Float Pool, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. This per-dem RN will support multiple locations including Weston, Coral Springs, Parkland, West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days between 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and must be able to work one to two 8-hour shifts per week, including at least one Monday and one Friday per month. Caregivers in this role will travel to Weston, Coral Springs, Parkland, West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens, with tolls and mileage compensated. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting. Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans. Administer medications and treatments. Initiate CPR and other emergency measures. Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings. Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment. Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families. Cover other nursing roles within the department. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross*In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through American Red Cross Certification within 6 months of hireOne year of recent experience as an RN in an outpatient settingOR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic settingOR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Experience with EPIC Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
