PRN Registered Nurse CV Prep and Recovery
About the Role
Under the general direction of the Cardiology Manager, the CV Prep & Recovery RN coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for nursing care related to the Cardiology Department. Responsibilities include:
- Administering medications and supervising cardiac stress tests and other non-invasive cardiac testing according to defined protocols.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and other appropriate hemodynamics.
- Performing continual patient assessment during the patient’s stay in the Cardiology Department.
- Documenting accurate nursing records and patient data.
- Coordinating patient teaching and post-procedure assessment.
- Performing emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation if necessary.
- Participating in departmental, hospital performance improvement, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required). Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Current state nursing license (required).
- BLS certification (required upon hire). ACLS certification (required within 6 months of employment).
- Minimum of one-year nursing experience in a cardiology-related field (required).
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills (required).
- Basic computer knowledge (preferred).
Schedule
PRN: 3 x 12-hour shifts per month (6:30 AM – 6:30 PM, with potential to stay late).
