PRN Qualified Mental Health Professional
PRN position based at Truman Medical Center, Western Missouri Mental Health, Kansas City, Missouri.
About the role
Provides an advanced level of mental health treatment in both individual and group settings. Primary duties include crisis intervention, risk assessment, diagnostic impression utilizing the DSM, short-term stabilization services as well as individual and group therapy. Treatment is provided based upon sound theoretical principles, with knowledge of the special issues and needs of the population served. The incumbent develops treatment strategies to meet the multifaceted needs of a diverse population, with attention to the policies and procedures of Truman Medical Center, and is expected to interface with both internal and external treatment providers.

Requirements
- Master’s degree or above in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy or closely related field
- Staff with a master’s degree in social work are required to have a MO LMSW
- If working in a BH Inpatient department, an active BLS certification and maintaining that status is required to remain assigned to the QMHP inpatient department
- Knowledge of psychiatric terminology and the process of psychiatric diagnosis
- Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of mental health assessment and treatment

- Organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to demonstrate good independent judgment
- Ability to adapt to new duties and work in a changing environment
- If driving is a requirement, must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy
- Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment
Schedule
- Part time, 4 hours per week
- Work schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
