About the role
We are seeking a compassionate PRN Psychiatric & Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at The Recovery Village Salem Drug and Alcohol Rehab. Located in Salem, Oregon, our facility offers a safe and supportive environment for adults facing drug and alcohol addictions, along with co-occurring mental health conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent medical care with the ARS philosophy outlined by the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director.
- Establishes rapport, gathers data, determines readiness for treatment, and applies diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders.
- Screens for co-occurring primary mental health issues and substance use disorders, including assessing for medication complications and detoxification protocols.
- Analyzes and interprets data to determine treatment recommendations and priorities.
- Screen for nutrition deficiencies and make interventions or refer for a nutrition consultation.
- Screen for pain and understand treatment strategies, including pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic approaches.
- Demonstrates proficiency in using the electronic health record and ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Reviews and documents HIV and STD test results in the medical record.
- Documents decision-making and treatment planning according to ASAM criteria and Medical Needs Criteria.
- Understands and abides by all safety, risk, infection control, and other guidelines.
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited Nursing Master's Program with a Family Nurse Practitioner or higher and a Psychiatric Nurse practice degree.
- Experience in Addiction Medicine/Primary Behavioral Health preferred.
- Familiarity with JCAHO and other healthcare standards preferred.
- Familiarity with ASAM/ASAM Criteria and other healthcare standards preferred.
- Applicable DEA authorization to prescribe controlled medications and completion of Buprenorphine prescribing training.
- Licensed Nurse with Master's Degree or higher to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate state.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement and performance improvement team philosophy.
- Effective communication skills and self-motivation.
