JOB DUTIES

  • Provides excellent medical care with the ARS philosophy outlined by the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director.
  • This includes the ability to establish rapport, systematically gather data, determine the readiness of an individual for treatment and change, and apply accepted criteria for diagnosis of substance use disorders.
  • Screens for co-occurring Primary Mental Health issues.
  • Screens for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) including psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.
  • Must have knowledge of medications, assessment for medication complications, detoxification protocols, and prescribing medications in general.
  • Analyzes and interprets data to determine treatment recommendations and priorities.
  • Screens for nutrition deficiencies and makes interventions or refers for a nutrition consultation as appropriate.
  • Screens for pain and understands treatment strategies for pain including pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic approaches.
  • Demonstrates proficiency using the electronic health record with all required documentation, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, state regulation, Joint Commission standards.
  • Interprets and documents HIV results, STD positive results, and other relevant lab data.
  • Understands ASAM criteria and Medical Needs Criteria provided and documents decision-making and treatment planning accordingly.
  • Understands the On-Call responsibilities and provides contact and back-up numbers, being responsive and available when assigned on-call duties.
  • Develops cost-effective methods to provide medically necessary therapeutic services.
  • Aids in formulating and supporting the highest standards of patient care.
  • Supports Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and students as required.
  • Abides by all safety/risk, infection control, and other guidelines as required.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited Nursing Master's Program with a Family Nurse Practitioner or higher and a Psychiatric Nurse practice degree.
  • Experience in Addiction Medicine/Primary Behavioral Health preferred.
  • Familiarity with JCAHO and other healthcare standards preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASAM/ASAM Criteria and other healthcare standards preferred.

Pay and Schedule

  • Competitive rates starting at $100.
  • Scheduling flexible, required to be onsite.
  • Pay: Competitive rates starting at $100.
  • Schedule: Must be able to work one weekend a month (Saturday and Sunday) 8 AM to 5 PM EST.
