Responsibilities
- Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.
- Implements individualized treatment plans based on physical therapy evaluations and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
- Modifies treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments in consultation with physical therapist.
- Collects patient data and communicates with the physical therapists regarding discharge recommendations when maximum benefit has been achieved.
- Documents patient care accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies.
- Charges patients accurately and timely according to CPT code format, price file, and insurance guidelines.
- Oversees the care provided by rehabilitation aides according to established regulations and practice standards, and may involve coordinating activities of rehabilitation aides, students, and other support personnel.
- Evaluates and interprets patient data relative to age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms, modifying approaches and communication skills accordingly.
- Identifies the need for patient and caregiver education, utilizing opportunities for teaching and documenting understanding as appropriate.
- Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives.
- Maintains clinical competencies through professional development, best practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.
- Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats.

Required Licenses And Certifications: Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS), Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Required OR Physical Therapy Assistant - TEMP (PTA-TEMP) Required
