About the role
As an Enhance Rehabilitation physical therapy assistant, you will work under the guidance of a physical therapist to assist in treating patients. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing physical therapy treatment programs, assisting patients through all phases of treatment, communicating with patients about their conditions and responses to treatments, and providing continuous updates to physical therapists, directors, and facility staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist in treating patients following an individualized plan of care created by physical therapists.
- Ensure that every patient receives quality treatment leading to excellent functional outcomes.
- Develop and implement physical therapy treatment programs based on each patient’s specific needs.
- Aid patients throughout the various stages of physical therapy treatment and techniques.
- Discuss treatment plans with patients and document patient conditions and responses in charts after each session.
- Communicate regularly with physical therapists, directors, and facility staff regarding patient progress and any necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Operate and apply knowledge of standard physical therapy equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state where you will be working.
- Passing scores on the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE).
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred but not required.
