PRN Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park and is currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacy Technician to work as needed. Standard hours of pharmacy operation are 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. On-call availability for times outside of these hours is not required, but may be requested on infrequent occasions based upon candidate availability.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Pharmacist as needed, permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
• Communicates with all customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• An active Kansas pharmacy technician license.
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) or ability to obtain shortly after hire date.
• Pyxis automated dispensing machine experience preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service/interprofessional skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones, and tablets.
