PRN Pharmacist

Role Overview

The Pharmacist II works in a hospital system pharmacy, responsible for verifying and dispensing medications, supervising Pharmacy Technicians, and ensuring compliance with regulations. They adjust medication dosages, provide patient education, and manage narcotics and inventory control. The role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals, maintaining accreditation standards, and supporting operational improvements.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and medication accuracy using pharmacy systems.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Adjust dosages according to protocols, considering patient conditions and interactions.
• Educate patients on medication use and effects.
• Manage narcotics, inventory, and compliance tasks, including documentation and audits.
• Coordinate with healthcare staff to verify orders and obtain necessary information.
• Assist in maintaining pharmacy accreditation and implementing operational changes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida in good standing.
• Preferred inpatient/hospital experience.
• Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently, apply judgment, and solve technical problems within defined parameters.
