PRN Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
About the role
The PRN Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at David Raines Community Health Centers performs job duties on an "as needed" basis, working under the supervision of the Medical Director and coordinating with other Health Center personnel. This role provides medical care to all clinic patients, including examinations, diagnoses, and treatments, with referrals to specialists or hospitals as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assists all patients with intake, registration, collection of payments and/or deductibles, including clinical care and services and healthcare-related needs regarding scheduling appointments, follow-ups, referrals, transportation, insurance verification, etc.
- Adheres to the standards of medical practice; is responsible for treatment, diagnosis, referrals, consultations, and assists in medical education for both patients and center staff.
- Counsels with patients regarding medical and other problems that might affect their health.
- Maintains frequent contact with the Medical Director to whom they are responsible.
- Provides comprehensive patient care with appropriate EHR documentation to all patients in compliance with Joint Commission and Patient Centered Medical Home standards of care.
- Must be available to rotate on occasion, as may be necessary, to other DRCHC sites (Bossier, Gilliam, Haynesville, Minden, or Shreveport).
Requirements
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing with concentration in Nurse Practitioner required.
- Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner to practice in the State of Louisiana.
- Minimum of one year as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience.
- Experience with electronic health records required, preferably Next Gen or similar EHR.
- Available to work after hours as required by management.
Qualifications
- Education: Master of Science Degree in Nursing with concentration in Nurse Practitioner.
- Licensure: Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner to practice in the State of Louisiana.
- Experience: Minimum of one year as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
- EHR Experience: Experience with electronic health records required, preferably Next Gen or similar EHR.
- Availability: Available to work after hours as required by management.
