PRN Oncology Infusion Nurse

Job Description

Provides compassionate oncology nursing care to patients.

• Administers prescribed chemotherapy and biologic treatments in accordance with nursing standards and under the direct supervision of a physician.
• Administers hydration, iron treatments and injections as prescribed.
• Maintains compliance with oral chemotherapy education and instruction for patients and family members regarding medications and side effects.
• Accesses ports, PICC lines and starts IVs.
• Oversees infusion schedules and maintains timely flow of patients.
• Performs therapeutic phlebotomy.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Compassionate and caring bedside manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.

Education

• Idaho RN License, required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification, required upon hire.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card, upon hire or within 90 days of employment.
• BSN, preferred.
• OCN certification, preferred.
• Infusion experience, strongly preferred.
• Medical oncology and rheumatology terminology, appreciated but not required.

Pay

Starting at $38/hour.
