Job Summary
The RN is the main link between the Oak Hill students/staff and the provider. The RN provides care and related services to patients in the student health clinic.
Essential Functions
- Arranging and distributing student medications.
- Assessing and triaging student health.
- Maintaining and documenting student medical records.
- Coordinating student medical appointments.
- Communicating student health needs with parents, and training faculty and staff on contemporary health issues and concerns.
- Managing the clinical function of the practice under the direction of the provider and Practice Manager.
- Training and educating practice staff.
- Accurately obtaining and recording vital signs and pertinent observations of patient visits.
- Preparing patients and being readily available to assist the provider.
- Following physician orders to perform and/or assist phlebotomy, sterile procedures, diagnostic procedures, and other procedures within the scope of practice.
- Collecting and processing specimens.
- Facilitating patient flow.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current RN license to practice in NC and VA.
- Current CPR certification.
- Seeking a day‑shift school RN to serve as day‑shift school health staff on a PRN basis following the school calendar year, including a four‑week summer session.
- Willingness to receive all required vaccinations; full vaccination required unless an exemption is granted.
Schedule
1st shift, weekdays from 7:45 am to 4:15 pm. PRN day‑shift position at the Oak Hill Campus and/or AMH Campus. No supervisory responsibilities. Travel to and from AMH and Oak Hill Campus.
