PRN Nurse Practitioner (Addiction Medicine)

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations (H&Ps) and ongoing medical evaluations; review laboratory results and monitor therapeutic levels
- Manage acute medical concerns and sick calls; develop safe and compliant discharge and transition plans
- Provide medical support for adult residential and detox programs; coordinate care with psychiatry and primary care providers
- Optimize post-discharge medication regimens; assist with prior authorizations and cost-effective treatment planning
- Complete accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives
- Evaluate and manage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine, in accordance with credentialing requirements and state regulations, if applicable
Qualifications
- Required: Active Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner (NP/CRNP) license, National certification in good standing, Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Addiction Medicine, Behavioral Health, or a related setting with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) exposure, Ability to work effectively in residential and/or detoxification settings
- PREFERRED: Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and withdrawal management protocols, Familiarity with medication prior authorizations and cost-containment strategies, Experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems, Participation in quality improvement or patient safety initiatives
