PRN MRI Technologist
PRN (As-Needed) position with shifts available between both Bountiful & Draper locations; open Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM.
About the role
Performs MRI procedures according to protocol and age-specific needs, including patient preparation. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures, and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.
Responsibilities
- Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
- Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent.
- Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
- Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high-quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
- Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during, and following the exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
- Transfers images to other locations as needed.
- Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
- Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
- Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two plus years’ experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) – preferred
- Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver, and a team player
- Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
- Ability to excel in a very fast-paced team environment
- Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectations
- Strong communication skills & professional demeanor
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification with Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or current American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
- Current CPR certification
Work Environment
This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation (minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment), bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Pay
Position pay range: $38.16 - $47.36 per hour.
