About the role
The PRN Mobile Unit Driver is responsible for the pick-up and transport of the Medical Mobile Unit, performing routine maintenance, assisting patients, and supporting the overall operations of the Mobile Unit.
Responsibilities
- Drive the Mobile Unit to and from designated school sites.
- Complete daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Participate and successfully complete driver education courses as required by DRCHC.
- Follow all traffic laws and maintain a clean, safe, and neat appearance of the vehicle.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness by keeping the vehicle clean inside and outside.
- Report all mechanical problems to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist in general maintenance tasks as needed.
- Keep a log on all repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Ensure all confidential personal health information and financial information is entered into the computerized system with high accuracy.
- Update and verify patient information, including addresses, contact details, insurance information, and medical histories on every visit.
- Communicate effectively with patients and assist with scheduling appointments, follow-ups, referrals, transportation, insurance verification, etc.
- Transport patients and clients using company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
- Perform clerical duties to support the daily business activities of the Mobile Unit.
- Answer and direct patient inquiries or complaints to the appropriate medical staff member.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Review supply request orders to maintain an adequate inventory of supplies.
- Perform any administrative and clerical job-related duties as needed, assigned, or requested.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Louisiana Driver's license with a clean driving record and no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years.
- No DUI convictions.
- At least two years of healthcare experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be able to operate a computer.
- Two to three years of experience driving and maintaining medium to heavy trucks, mobile units, or RVs.
Qualifications
