PRN - Medical-Surgical/CCU Nurse

Role Overview This position involves providing direct and indirect patient care in various clinical settings. The nurse collaborates with physicians, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, utilizing critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care. Responsibilities include accurate patient assessments, medication administration, patient education, and performing treatments requiring technical skills. The role also emphasizes addressing psychosocial needs, promoting patient safety, and practicing cost-effective resource usage. The nurse assists with procedures, communicates effectively with team members, and ensures patient dignity and rights are maintained. Qualifications & Skills Graduation from an accredited nursing program.Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 14 days of hire.Preferred certifications include ACLS and PALS.Computer literacy is required; additional technical skills are desired. Key Duties Assess and care for patients based on their medical conditions and age.Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments.Develop and evaluate patient education plans, involving families when appropriate.Collaborate with healthcare team members and assist with procedures.Address psychosocial aspects and communicate with social services for post-discharge needs.Implement cost-efficient practices and prioritize patient safety.Commit to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
