PRN - Lab Assistant/Data Entry - San Antonio, Texas

About the role

This position is PRN only and located in San Antonio, Texas. You will perform a vital part of the patient care process by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored.

Scheduled hours are 4 PM–1 AM, with coverage needed Monday–Friday and rotating Saturdays (subject to change). This role is not benefit-eligible.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient, client, billing, and test information into the Laboratory Information System.
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions.
• Work in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
• Routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees must maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to privacy and security standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production.
