About the role
As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver quality general/psychiatric nursing care to patients who are hospitalized for treatment of psychiatric or emotional disorders; Support the hospital and program philosophy of care and ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.
Responsibilities
- Perform suicide assessments and understands suicide precautions
- Identify and incorporate each patient's unique needs into a comprehensive and individualized care plan
- Accurate and legible documentation that meets current standards and policies
- Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services
- Through a systematic process of interaction with patients, the patient's significant others, and the appropriate health care providers, collect and analyze data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, spiritual, cultural and anticipated discharge needs
- Determine patient's alcohol or drug toxicity; identifies signs of withdrawal; conducts screenings or assessments to determine needs of treatment
- Document physician's phone orders
- Maintain knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting
Requirements
- Current Nevada RN License required
- ADN / BSN or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR certification
