Responsibilities
- Able to perform duties in cafeteria operations and catering services
- Assists new employees and co-workers with cross training
- Cleans and sanitizes assigned work areas and equipment as per daily, weekly, monthly cleaning schedules
- Removes soiled trays/items from patient carts; cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots & pans, etc within specified time frame
- Safely and correctly assembles, operates, and disassembles the dishmachine (for cleaning), records dishmachine temperatures
- Safely and correctly assembles, operates, disassembles kitchen equipment used in preparation of menu items
- Safely and correctly handles cleaning chemicals as described in MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
- Safely and correctly operates 3-compartment sink, records and monitors sanitizing solution
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floor, dry storage area and walk-in refrigerators
- Wash and sanitize cafeteria and catering dishes, utensils, pots & pans, etc within specified time frame
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Able to follow oral and written instructions
- Able to learn and apply basic mathematic skills to convert weights and measures
- Able to learn and apply food safety/handling standards
- Able to learn and apply infection control guidelines
- Able to learn and apply knowledge of therapeutic diets and food consistency modifications
- Able to read, write and speak English
- 6 months of restaurant/institutional establishments preferred
