PRN - Clinical Tech. (Medical Assistant)

Responsibilities
- Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist position as detailed in the specific job description.
- Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, building and maintaining confidence and credibility.
- Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team while adhering to all company policies and procedures.

- Ensure activities comply with Federal and State regulations, including HIPAA and health information management guidelines.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
- Triage patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws, giving injections, and observing patients for changes in condition.
- Chart and report patient conditions, including adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take necessary action.
- Assist with lab testing, phlebotomy, and preparing for minor procedures and physicals.
- Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
- Assist patients utilizing a Virtual Medicine Provider.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts and forward them as appropriate.
- Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations as directed by the Provider.
- Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
- Comply with physical, cognitive, and environmental demands of the position as specified.
- Promote and maintain a respectful culture of confidentiality for employees, employers, and business.
- Complete all mandatory compliance training.
- Maintain overall cleanliness of the office, including garbage disposal, organization, and professional appearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Assist with clerical work such as checking in patients, recording demographic, insurance, and financial information.
- Verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information on payment policies and billing/collection processes.
- Work as part of the team by answering telephones, taking messages, and returning voicemails professionally.
- Prepare patient charts for virtual patient communication via phone or video conferencing.
- Assist with patient follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic preferred in a clinic setting, preferably urgent care.
- Current CPR license.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school strongly preferred; license must be active, in good standing, and verifiable.
- TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment (if applicable in your state).
Experience Levels
- Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and/or at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic.
- Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 4 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in the Clinical Tech role or (2) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role.
- Level 3: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in the Clinical Tech role or (2) 8 years’ experience in a relevant role.
- Level 4: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in the Clinical Tech role or (2) 8 years’ experience in a relevant role.
Additional responsibilities may include administration duties such as scheduling, ordering, training, and other tasks assigned by the Clinic or Regional Director. Must be receptive and active within 7 days of hire.
