About the role
As an Enhance Rehabilitation occupational therapist assistant, you will work under the guidance of an occupational therapist within a dynamic team. Your responsibilities include assisting in the treatment of patients by following an individualized plan of care developed by Occupational Therapists. You will ensure that every patient receives quality treatment leading to excellent functional outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement occupational therapy treatment programs based on each patient's particular needs.
- Aid patients through all phases of Occupational Therapy treatment and techniques.
- Communicate with patients about their treatment plans and document patient conditions and responses to treatments in charts after each session.
- Maintain open communication with Occupational Therapists, Directors of Rehabilitation, and facility staff.
- Operate and apply knowledge of standard occupational therapy equipment.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or a related field.
- Current certification as an occupational therapy assistant from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
