Responsibilities

  • Operate Omnicell automation systems at customer sites following SOPs and best practices.
  • Manage inventory levels and perform restocking duties.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of XR2 equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacy teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and act as a liaison between Omnicell and the customer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Active Pennsylvania (PA) State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration (if required by state).
  • An Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA CPhT or ExCPT).
  • Familiarity / Knowledge of IV Compounding.

Qualifications

  • Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program completion (preferred).
  • 2+ years of hospital IV Compounding experience (preferred).
  • Basic troubleshooting skills with automation devices (preferred).

Work Conditions

This PRN (On Call) position supports backups for call-ins, sick calls, vacations, and LOAs at our Pittsburgh, PA site: 320 E North Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

  • Must be able to commute to the Pittsburgh site.
  • Shift: Backup for either Monday–Friday or Monday–Thursday, 1st or 2nd shift. 1st shift typically 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM; 2nd shift 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM. Some make-up shifts may be scheduled on Friday or Saturday.
  • Flexible availability required (e.g., works well if you are currently on a 7-on/7-off, PRN, or part-time schedule).
  • Hospital pharmacy environment; 8–10-hour shifts.
  • Ability to travel for training.
  • Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous drugs.
