About the role
Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Berks County, Pennsylvania is seeking a board certified/board eligible Anesthesiologist to provide PRN coverage.
You'll join an outstanding team at our 204-bed state-of-the-art hospital and health campus. This is an excellent opportunity for Anesthesiologists to enjoy a high-quality of life while providing care within a community of approximately 400,000 people.
Responsibilities
- Work independently as well as supervise others (supervising 99% of cases)
- Manage 6,000 OR cases annually
- Treat 700+ deliveries annually (with a 50% epidural rate)
- Perform approximately 100 heart surgeries annually (including TAVR, watchman, ASD/PFO)
- Handle surgeries in various specialties such as orthopedics, obgyn, urology, neurosurgery (95% spine cases), cardiology, and pediatrics
- Participate in a team approach model focused on patient safety
- Collaborate with experienced hospitalists and receive collaborative leadership
Requirements
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
- Completion of accredited training program
- BC/BE in Anesthesia
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted license in the state of Pennsylvania
- Ability to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification required
