PRN Advanced Practice Professional - ICU - Berkeley
About the role
This position involves coordinating and providing clinical care for critical care medicine patients, managing their medical and surgical needs, and collaborating with various medical/surgical specialty teams.
Responsibilities
- Orders additional tests or consults to manage patient's medical condition
- Performs and interprets diagnostic tests
- Communicates with critical care and inter-professional services regarding patient evaluations
- Develops and implements a comprehensive plan of care for patients
- Participates in physician/team rounds and identifies unstable or complex patient care situations
- Facilitates patient discharge disposition or transfer by coordinating appropriate services
- Performs and coordinates appropriate procedures as directed by the critical care team
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers, licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia, and BLS Certification.
Prior acute care, critical care experience is preferred.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include ACGNP certification or ACNP, but FNP is also considered.
