About the role
The Private Practice Therapist will provide individual therapy services, conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate trauma-informed and mindfulness-based sessions
- Collaborate on care plans
- Engage in case consultation and supervision as appropriate
- Participate in practice meetings
- Contribute to workshops or community programs as needed
- Uphold ethical and legal standards of clinical practice
Requirements
- Current or eligible Connecticut licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist) or pre-licensed status working toward independent licensure.
- Strong clinical skills in individual psychotherapy, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and use of evidence-based interventions.
- Experience or interest in trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based approaches, and integrative or holistic modalities.
- Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive, and affirming care for clients of diverse identities and backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain clear, organized clinical documentation and manage a part-time caseload responsibly.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, including in-person sessions in West Hartford, CT and secure telehealth sessions from home.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing supervision, continuing education, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a closely related mental health field.
