Private Insurance Biller (DME)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Private Insurance Biller to join our growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) team. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of insurance billing, including claim submission, denial management, appeals, accounts receivable follow-up, and payer compliance activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with payer requirements and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit and manage private insurance claims for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services and products.
• Perform full-cycle billing functions, including claim creation, submission, payment posting, and account reconciliation.
• Investigate, resolve, and appeal denied or underpaid claims.
• Conduct accounts receivable follow-up to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Research claim issues and communicate with insurance carriers to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Monitor payer requirements and maintain compliance with Medicare DMEPOS guidelines and payer-specific regulations.
• Review documentation to ensure claims are complete, accurate, and compliant prior to submission.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve billing processes, reduce denials, and support revenue cycle goals.
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation within company systems.
• Identify trends in denials and reimbursement issues and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous medical billing experience.
• Strong understanding of insurance claims processing and reimbursement procedures.
• Experience managing claim denials, appeals, and accounts receivable follow-up.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
