Private Instructor Aquatics (WSI/Non-WSI)

About the role

This position is responsible for teaching private or semi-private swim lessons that motivate, educate and encourage clients of all ages and varying abilities while developing swim skills and achieving client goals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and understanding of all swimming strokes and skills, as well as knowledge of American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels.
• Teach private or semi-private swim lessons.
• Motivate, educate and encourage clients of all ages and varying abilities.

• Work independently.
• Follow and enforce all pool standards and rules.
• Work a variety of shifts, including morning, evening, and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be at least fifteen (15) years of age for non-WSI Private Instructor and sixteen (16) years of age for the WSI Private Instructor.
• Previous swim instruction preferred for non-WSI Private Instructor.
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification required for WSI Private Instructor.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to swim to safety with a full-grown adult and remain calm in emergencies.
• Can communicate effectively with the public and other team members.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.

Skills

• Knowledge and understanding of all swimming strokes and skills.
• Knowledge of American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels.

Pay

• Non-WSI Private Instructor: $17.85 - $22.32 per hour.
• WSI Private Instructor: $20.85 - $29.25 per hour.

Schedule

• Shifts ranging from morning to evening hours and weekends.
