Private Equity Finance Analyst, Asset Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a private equity firm investing in a unique and highly specialized asset class to appoint a Finance Analyst. Reporting to the VP of Finance, with direct exposure to the CFO and senior leadership, this role will support the financial oversight of a $6 billion private equity fund. It offers a strong combination of fund finance, investment analysis, investor communication and deal execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed private equity investment models for new and existing investments.
• Perform valuation analysis, cash-flow forecasting, scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.
• Model investment returns, including IRR, MOIC, cash-on-cash returns and exit scenarios.
• Assess transaction structures, financing assumptions and the impact of leverage on returns.
• Analyze potential investments and present findings and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership.
• Monitor portfolio performance against underwriting assumptions and identify key variances.
• Support the financial oversight and reporting of a $6 billion private equity fund.
• Prepare fund-level financial analysis and reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
• Produce investor reporting and respond to financial and transaction-related inquiries.
• Partner with investment, finance and operations teams throughout the deal-execution process.
• Improve financial models, reporting tools and analytical processes.

Requirements

• Candidates must have prior private equity experience, including three-statement modelling, valuation analysis, leveraged returns, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and investment underwriting.
• This is not an entry-level position; therefore, recent graduates will not be considered.
• Candidates must also be currently based in the New York metropolitan area. Applications requiring domestic or international relocation will not be considered.
• Experience in fund accounting, fund finance, transaction services or investment analysis.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and private equity fund structures.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence presenting complex financial information to senior stakeholders.
• Commercial mindset with a genuine interest in investments and deal execution.
