Private Duty Caregiver

About the role

Homestead Health Care is hiring Private Duty caregivers in the Clinton Township, MI area. As a caregiver, you will provide physical and emotional assistance to elderly clients, forming genuine connections and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

We offer flexible 4 to 12-hour shifts and start at $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer assistive devices (Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand, gait belts, slide boards)
• Assist residents with daily living activities: transferring, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health and confer with healthcare team members
• Maintain cleanliness of the environment, including light housekeeping
• Use and clean devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Follow schedule and assist residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience
• Experience passing medications
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Valid Driver License and insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel a maximum of 25 miles

Pay

Starting pay at $18.00 per hour.

Schedule

Flexible 4 to 12-hour shifts, including evenings (e.g., 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM). Full-time and part-time hours available.
