About the role

Visiting Angels Amarillo is urgently hiring a compassionate and dedicated Part Time Caregiver to support clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Ideal candidates must have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health or behavior.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any concerns or changes in client status.

Requirements

• Candidates should have experience in caregiving or related fields, including but not limited to: Home health or hospice care experience.
• Working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Able to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
