Private Duty Caregiver

Homestead Health Care is hiring Private Duty caregivers in the Clinton Township, MI area. As a caregiver, you’ll provide physical and emotional support, forming genuine connections with elderly clients.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer-assistive devices (Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand, gait belts, slide boards)
• Assist with daily living activities: transferring, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health and confer with healthcare team members
• Maintain cleanliness of the environment, including light housekeeping
• Use and clean devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Follow schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience
• Experience passing medications
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Willing to travel up to 25 miles
• Weekend availability

Pay

Starting at $18.00 per hour

Schedule

• 4 to 12-hour flexible shifts
• Current client need: 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM
