Applicants must be within driving distance to our Ridgeland, MS office to be considered for this role and have the ability to commute to the office a minimum of three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and grow a current book of business including sales and service of organic new business.
  • Ensure commissions and other financial transactions are accurately reflected and balanced across accounts.
  • Oversee and execute all steps involved in the processing of various insurance-related documents, including evidence of property, binders, and identification cards: ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Prepare, review, and manage invoices related to insurance policies and services. Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile accounts to ensure proper billing and accounting practices.
  • Review and process policy endorsements, ensuring that changes to coverage, terms, or conditions are accurately documented and communicated to clients and the internal team.
  • Assist clients and internal teams in completing and processing insurance applications verifying information and ensuring compliance with underwriting requirements.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic files and records for all client policies, correspondence, and documentation, adhering to company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Provide professional and effective assistance to clients regarding coverage options, policy changes, and coverage issues.
  • Clarify policy details and resolve coverage concerns for both clients and the internal team.
  • Manage and coordinate the marketing process for existing and prospective clients, including the development of marketing materials, proposal preparation, and communication with insurance carriers to secure competitive quotes.
  • Monitor and follow up on aged receivables to ensure timely collection of outstanding agency billed payments. Implement collection strategies and communicate with clients and internal teams to resolve overdue accounts.
  • Maintain professional verbal and written correspondence with clients, insurance carriers, mortgage companies, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication, resolve issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Stay current on industry developments, including updates to rates, insurance forms, and coverage options, to provide accurate advice and ensure compliance with evolving standards.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed, including scheduling, data entry, and assisting team members with various tasks to ensure efficient office operations.
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with marketing representatives, adjustors, and underwriters.
  • Stay current and up to date with Marsh compliance rules and regulations.
  • Attend outside functions such as Chamber of Commerce meetings or luncheons within the community, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFP, CFA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of independent agency insurance experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and be detail-oriented.
  • Able to research and analyze problems independently.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and services.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members.
