Private Client Services Associate - Junior to Mid-Level
About the role
The Private Client Services Group at Arnold & Porter seeks a junior to mid-level trusts and estates associate for its New York office. The group handles sophisticated, highly sensitive matters for clients including family offices, family business owners, and individual clients. Areas of focus include estate planning, tax, real estate, family disputes, strategic business organization, and succession planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and counsel on trusts and estates, transfer tax, and associated income tax matters.
- Work on complex client matters requiring an interdisciplinary approach.
- Assist in international tax planning initiatives, if applicable.
Requirements
- Experience in trusts and estates, transfer tax, and associated income tax areas of the law.
- A minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience, with an LLM in taxation or estate planning a plus.
- Currently licensed or eligible to become licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where applying.

- Strong academic background in law.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Benefits
Salary range for this position in New York is $225,000 to $365,000, commensurate with experience. Eligibility for an hours-based bonus is available.
