Private Banking Officer
About the Role
The Private Banking Officer serves as the primary relationship advisor for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. This role focuses on developing and administering strategies, sales, and plans to grow the Private Banking division. The officer deepens client relationships through high-level, need-based service and delivery of the full suite of the Central Bank Private Banking platform, including commercial banking, retail banking, trust services, financial planning, investments, deposit products, and other private banking services.
This position requires conducting relationships and activities in compliance with established Bank policies, procedures, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act, and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition & Business Development
- Meet revenue growth, profitability, and client retention goals by acquiring new clients and expanding services to existing clients.
- Act as an expert-level "market-moving" and "rainmaker" advisor, bringing in significant deposits, investments, and fee-based products across retail and commercial banking.
- Self-acquire new business through active community engagement and networking.
- Client Service Excellence
- Manage the most challenging, sensitive, and complex client relationships.
- Serve as a role model for Private Bankers, Trust Relationship Managers, Commercial Bankers, and Retail Bankers.
- Ensure compliance with audit, regulatory, and compliance frameworks for a high-quality portfolio.
- Develop short- and long-term initiatives aligned with the company’s vision, providing guidance and coaching to the Private Banking team.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to uphold concierge client service and company culture.
- Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant information to the team as directed by organizational leadership.
- Strategic Planning & Business Line Partnership
- Oversee budget management, forecasting, and expenditures to maximize profitability.
- Develop strategic calling plans to maximize investment, loan, and deposit activities in collaboration with commercial banking managers.
- Partner with line-of-business leaders to create marketing plans benefiting Private Banking and the broader organization.
- Recruit and develop Private Bankers and Client Service Associates (when applicable).
- Assist in developing and overseeing marketing and calling efforts for Wealth Management opportunities, specifically for Private Banking.
- Determine proactive calling and cross-selling practices for the client base.
- Monitor and coach the Private Banking team to achieve sales results, cross-selling productivity, and wealth management opportunities.
- Plan and oversee marketing or external events to maximize the organization’s visibility in key market segments.
- Collaborate with commercial credit leadership to establish Private Banking lending guidelines that align with prudent lending standards and the Bank’s strategic plan.
- Maintain consistent contact with organizational partners in Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Trust Company, and Mortgage areas to maximize growth opportunities.
- Engage regularly with clients, prospects, and referral sources (e.g., accountants, lawyers, medical professionals, centers of influence, external organizations).
- Perform other assigned duties while maintaining legal, operational, and regulatory controls to manage risk and compliance.
