Privacy Compliance Director

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Privacy Compliance Director to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. Responsibilities

• Owns and drives privacy accountability and compliance across the company
• Defines and evolves enterprise privacy compliance strategy and assessment methodologies
• Manages vendor and asset assessments globally
• Collaborates with stakeholders and vendors to clarify assessments and risk treatments
• Develops and maintains process documentation for privacy responsibilities
• Drives process improvements within Privacy & Information Security programs
• Sponsors and leads complex privacy-driven initiatives

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in Privacy Compliance and Risk Management for a large multi-national corporation
• 7 years of experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance tools like OneTrust and TrustArc
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, Accounting, or Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• Expert-level understanding of Privacy frameworks (GDPR, CPRA) and risk management strategies
• Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) preferred within 12 months; CIPP and AIPP desirable

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $122,000 – $140,000 annually
