Privacy Associate Attorney - Midlevel
About the role
Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP, one of Fortune’s Best Places to Work, seeks a Privacy Associate in multiple offices. The ideal candidate should have 4-8 years of experience in privacy and product counseling, with a focus on US federal and state privacy laws. Experience in developing internal data protection programs, conducting privacy assessments, and advising on cutting-edge privacy issues such as AI, adtech, health data, biometric data, and kids and teen data is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Advising companies on US federal and state privacy laws
- Developing internal data protection programs
- Conducting privacy assessments and building out data maps
- Performing data protection impact assessments
- Drafting privacy policies
- Negotiating data processing agreements
- Advising on cutting-edge or high-risk privacy issues
Requirements
- Strong academic credentials
- Prior peer law firm experience is a plus
Qualifications
Strong candidates will have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Admission to practice law in the United States is required.
Skills
Experience with US federal and state privacy laws, developing internal data protection programs, conducting privacy assessments, and advising on cutting-edge privacy issues.
