About the role
The Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines; report all safety concerns or issues to immediate supervisor
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by completing daily housekeeping assignments
- Complete make-ready in accordance with Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used
- Complete all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks, including press-side quality checks
- Operate the press to produce product in accordance with customer specifications, maintaining quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing press efficiency
- Maintain consistent quality during production run; critical quality checks include copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion; ensure conformance to all other quality checks
- Complete all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard
- Complete press make-readies efficiently
- Complete all required equipment maintenance duties, including cleaning plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricating press as needed
- Input all required information into the GlobeTek system for material usage and time accurately and promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience as a printing press operator and/or training
- Ability to stand, use hands to feel and touch, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear
- Frequent walking required
- Occasionally must climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly
