Responsibilities
- Assesses and performs analysis on data, and prepares data to facilitate the printing needs for Facilities and Real Estate Management functions of organization.
- Operates Xerox DocuTech Publishing Series, Xerox 5090 and Xerox 5100A reproducing machines used in duplicating forms, booklets, cards, books, memos, and other printed and bound materials which are not copyrighted.
- Operates large two-color, two-side press.
- Cuts paper and cards with programmed automatic hydraulic paper cutter.
- Operates large offset presses and other printing, collating and duplicating machines.
- Collates materials in prescribed order with Macey Stack Signature collator with offset stacker and stitcher; including, hand collating, machine collating, stitching, and/or other duties assigned.
- Operates large and small presses.
- Operates an electric hole-punch, automatic folder and padding board for hand binding.
- Operates an electric shrink wrap machine for packaging.
- Performs all tasks related to printing and duplicating machines.
- Wraps and boxes completed jobs.
- Packages finished jobs for distribution by mail room or district distribution facilities if needed.
- Sets up and operates large folder with scoring, perforating, gluing and rotary trimming attachments.
- Serves, cleans, and inspects machines and bindery equipment.
- Examines proof sheets to detect errors in position, alignment, page element, margin, trim and fold settings.
- Ensures that printing properties are established in accordance with guidelines and deadlines set forth by individual job request.
- Ensures that all printing request/requisitions are appropriately processed, accurately reproduced and that copies are returned to client with each job request.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two (2) years of experience as a printer or completion of trade course(s) including, or supplemental by, vocational printing courses; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience having operated high-speed duplication equipment. Two (2) of the five (5) years must have been with electronic, programmable machinery wherein skills and knowledge were enhanced.
