Principal Test Hardware Engineer
About the role
Join our Continued Engineering Support (CES) Team, responsible for programs transitioning to production, in-production programs, and sustainment programs. As a Principal Test Hardware Engineer, you will support the continued production and sustainment of complex microwave modules, submodules, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems. Responsibilities
- Design automated test hardware for production and prime mission equipment testing.
- Verify and validate automated test hardware.
- Manage scope and schedule in collaboration with program teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Debug existing test hardware solutions and identify root causes.
- Mentor junior-level test engineers.
- Assess design updates to existing electrical subassemblies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in test hardware design and testing.
- Ability to test and debug electrical circuits such as analog, digital, and RF.
- Proficiency with automated test equipment (ATE) including oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, and other ATE platforms.
- Understanding of mechanical fixturing related to test solutions and troubleshooting mechanical issues within test fixtures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance (highly preferred).
- Experience with TestStand and knowledge of other programming languages.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience gathering and analyzing test data to assess trends and develop yield improvement plans.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability.
- Ability to close on discrete tasking in a timely manner and lead others to closure.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter with leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience leading a small team of engineers in a production environment.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $118,095 – $200,762. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
