About the Role

Raytheon’s Effector Analog & Power (EAP) Team is seeking senior-level engineers with electronics testing expertise to verify power and analog-oriented products. The EAP Design Department develops Telemetry and Flight Termination products, power systems (from all-up round to low-level power regulation), servo electronics for mechanical motion, and low-noise mixed-signal electronics interfacing with front-end sensors. These products typically operate in lower power and voltage ranges (under 10kW and 1000V).

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of engineers to perform electrical tests and troubleshooting on subassemblies, assemblies, and systems for conformance to specifications.
  • Apply advanced understanding of unit under test theory to identify faulty product due to design, workmanship, environmental, or component defects in complex electronics.
  • Support systems validation, test, and analysis through all phases of integration and test validation activities within the Labs.
  • Ensure customer success by developing and executing innovative test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools, and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8 years of experience, or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with prints, schematics, sketches, and test procedures.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of circuit cards at the component level.
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, or spectrum analyzers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Understanding of switching converter control techniques (e.g., voltage mode, peak/average current modes) and stability analysis.
  • Experience leading small teams (formally or informally) and collaborating with other team leads toward larger goals.
  • Exposure to managing customer relationships and documenting/presenting technical topics to teams and upper management.
  • Experience conducting trade studies for power electronics architecture at the circuit card stack level.
  • Experience guiding drafters through the ECAD process, including layout/routing for non-isolated and isolated power electronics.
  • Experience creating electrical design specifications and defining requirements early in the design cycle.
  • Design experience at the circuit card stack level, addressing concerns of adjacent disciplines (thermal, structural, mechanical, reliability, quality).
  • Experience with Texas Instruments C-2000 microcontrollers, Microchip PIC controllers, VHDL, or real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN-bus, UART, and/or RS-422.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels. RTX considers factors including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.

Schedule

9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability.
  • 401(k) match.
  • Flexible spending accounts.
  • Flexible work schedules.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Employee Scholar Program (tuition assistance).
  • Parental leave.
