Principal Technical Program Manager, Compute

Responsibilities

• Lead technical programs to develop and rollout next generation technology solutions to process a diverse spectrum of infrastructure workloads across Roblox services to enable users around the world to efficiently, reliably, and securely enjoy the Roblox Platform.
• Define problem space, collect user requirements and drive engineering teams to plan and ship large-scale systems.
• Clearly communicate technology, requirements, goals, and milestones.
• Balance efficiency, and priorities based on impact to the community and our long-term goals.
• Align senior leadership and key stakeholders around program roadmap.
• Manage programs from beginning to end, focusing on what is best for long-term success.
• Unblock teams and allow them to stay true to top priorities.
• Enable engineering teams to reliably manage all project phases.
• Use data-driven approach to inform teams' direction.
• Manage dependencies across teams and components.
• Influence, drive and deliver the product roadmap in support of innovation, cost-to-serve, scale, performance, quality and reliability and other strategic business initiatives.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in software industry driving the build of large-scale infrastructure.
• Experienced with establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and earning trust as a technical leader with all partners.
• Experienced with identifying critical technical problems and opportunities.
• Experienced with delivering end to end technical programs through roadmapping and reliable execution.
• Knowledgeable about user needs, scoping, planning, execution and delivery.
• Flexible around process, using process as a tool when it makes sense for a team.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS), and AI/ML infrastructure.
• Effective written and oral communications.

Qualifications

• Technical leader with domain expertise in systems and software used to process and manage Cloud and on-prem Infrastructure.

Skills

The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand.
