Responsibilities
- Own reporting mechanisms and ensure data integrity at the VP/SVP level for multiple projects
- Communicate portfolio risks, updates, and forward-looking plans
- Work cross-functionally with technical teams on product definition and end-to-end roadmaps (e.g., defining objectives, milestones, and deliverables)
- Clearly and briefly articulate how product results impact downstream technical adoption and help define overall product strategy
- Influence key stakeholders through effective communication and strategic engagement to drive decision-making and project progression
- Lead multi-functional teams through both tactical and strategic decision points, understanding dependencies, risks, and mitigations
- Provide strategic insights on overall project and operational performance to ensure portfolio alignment, program prioritization, and efficient issue escalation
- Drive execution of program plans and critical decision-making, while taking accountability for ‘on time, on budget’ delivery of program goals and milestones
- Provide expert guidance on budget planning, forecasting, and leverage quantitative analytics to forecast time and cost to goals and milestones
- Support/manage cross-functional meetings, including scheduling logistics, creating and distributing meeting agendas and minutes, and driving completion of action items
A day in the life
You check in with teams developing products, talking to technical leads and engineers. Unexpected results in a recent test lead you to dig in to understand the issue better, huddle with relevant engineers and partner teams to formulate hypotheses for the issue, and test to validate them. Working with technical leads, you add roadmap items to validate hypotheses in the next development sprint, informing downstream customers of potential impact. You then write a document for senior leadership, focusing on recent progress and major decisions made, defining measures of success, elevating risks, and how you plan to mitigate them.
