About the Role

Principal Technical Account Managers oversee integrations with inventory/publisher partners. The Principal TAM is responsible for the success of technical engagements across assigned partner integrations (both new and ongoing) by providing thought leadership on best practice implementations and technical guidance. They serve as senior liaisons between our partners and Engineering teams.

This role involves managing complex, custom integration projects using multiple technologies and tools. The Principal TAM acts as a solution-oriented advisor, communicating advanced engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders and evangelizing The Trade Desk's value proposition and technology to partners. Beyond technical advisory, this role identifies opportunities to better serve partners' businesses and helps set the technical direction for inventory partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership on best practice implementations and technical guidance for partner integrations.
  • Serve as a senior liaison between partners and Engineering teams.
  • Manage complex, custom integration projects without direct software development.
  • Communicate advanced engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Evangelize The Trade Desk's value proposition and technology to partners.
  • Identify new opportunities where products can better serve partners' businesses.
  • Set technical direction for the team's approach to inventory partnerships.
  • Coach and develop technical talent within the TAM team.
  • Interact with large inventory partners, providing professional service and keeping projects on track.
  • Document client projects and update the team on status.
  • Influence and advocate for TTD's product and technology initiatives.
  • Manage long-term (multi-month) integrations, set timelines, and keep stakeholders updated.
  • Drive processes independently with superb attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with deal makers, Product, and Engineering teams to maximize partnership value.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of work experience in a technical client-facing role.
  • 3+ years of adtech or adjacent industry experience.
  • Experience partnering with publishers, SSP's, or DSP's.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university.
  • Experience with SQL, web technologies/web programming languages, and APIs.
  • Demonstrable creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fluid, fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience working with clients, product, and engineering teams.
  • Ability to break down complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Excel, Office, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with digital advertising technology such as programmatic.
  • Proficiency in oRTB.
  • CTV integration experience.

Pay

The base salary range for this role is $113,500—$208,100 USD. All employees may be eligible for stock-based compensation, variable incentives, and commissions depending on the role.
