About the role
Serve as technical leader and test engineer on medium to large engineering development teams to create cutting-edge Command and Control (C2) software products. Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (V&V), formal testing, and software installation. Act as a department systems engineering subject matter expert to solve critical technical problems with innovative solutions, along with mentoring other engineers. Design, develop and test exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies.
Responsibilities
- Experience as lead systems or test engineer on a software development program.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with any of these systems: Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control Systems, or Shipboard Combat Systems such as Aegis and SSDS Mk II.
- Experience with Systems of Systems Software Integration and Test across multiple operating environments such as Linux, Windows, Virtual Machines, and Containers.
- Experience with software development in Java and C++ and scripting in Linux shells, PowerShell, and Python.
- Experience with on-site customer software installation and systems integration along with leading formal software qualification tests and demonstrations.
- Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Understanding requirements development and experience using requirements management tools, such as DOORS.
- Understanding of designing system architectures and experience using modeling tools, such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or Rational Suite.
- Understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE).
