About the role

The Honeywell Aerospace Platform Organization is a centralized engineering group responsible for developing and supporting foundational software platforms, reusable technologies, and engineering capabilities that enable multiple aerospace products and programs across the business. This team advances common software architectures, engineering best practices, platform technologies, and scalable development frameworks to support next-generation aerospace solutions. As a Principal System Engineer, you will provide technical expertise as a program team leader, influence software design directions, and act as a technical leader and coach for other engineers within the Electronic Solutions Software Center of Excellence (COE).

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead software architecture and coding for the Thunderbolt platform product
• Drive requirements, design, integration, and certification activities
• Define and validate features, including verification and validation
• Provide customer support and act as a principal interface for technology development
• Influence customer requirements and specifications
• Develop technical solutions using the latest technologies, processes, and methodologies
• Code in multiple languages and apply analytical and software development skills
• Collaborate with broader engineering teams to implement platform product goals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Systems, or Computer Science
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
