About the role
The successful candidate will lead mission architecture and technical integration of REACTOR® and its Cognitive Decision Aids (CDAs) across c-UAS, IAMD, and broader multi-domain missions. The role translates operational needs into architectures, requirements, interfaces, verification strategies, and deployment-ready technical baselines.
Responsibilities
- Lead system and mission architecture for REACTOR deployments and product extensions across c-UAS, IAMD, and multi-domain mission problems
- Translate operational concepts, mission threads, customer needs, and product objectives into architectures, system requirements, interfaces, and measurable acceptance criteria
- Architect end-to-end decision workflows and define how REACTOR CDAs consume mission, sensor, track, policy, and resource information to support operator decisions and automation
- Define interface control needs and data contracts for sensors, track sources, C2 systems, effectors, and external systems; promote MOSA principles and reusable services across domains
- Partner with Product Management and feature leads to define implementable features, verification plans, demos, and acceptance criteria; perform trade studies and drive technical risk reduction
- Lead or support integration planning, technical reviews, verification and validation, test events, demonstrations, and operational performance analysis
- Serve as a senior systems engineering and architecture authority, mentoring teams and communicating technical recommendations, tradeoffs, and mission concepts to customers and leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related technical field with at least 10 years of applicable experience; or a master's degree with at least 8 years
- Strong systems engineering experience spanning mission analysis, architecture, requirements, interfaces, integration, verification/validation, and operational evaluation
- Experience architecting or integrating software-intensive defense or mission systems involving sensors, tracks, C2, effectors, or decision-support capabilities
- Working knowledge of c-UAS, air and missile defense, kill-chain / kill-web concepts, or closely related mission systems
- Hands-on project experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering / Model-Based Engineering methods using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or comparable platforms
- Experience developing system or software architectures using MBSE/MDE tools and languages such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, SysML, UML, or equivalent
- Experience defining interfaces and data exchanges and performing technical trade studies across mission performance, integration risk, cybersecurity, and deployment constraints
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional technical stakeholders and drive decisions to closure
- United States Citizenship Desired
Skills and Domain Experience
- Hands-on experience with c-UAS, IAMD, counter-rocket/artillery/mortar, air defense, fires, or multi-domain C2 systems
- Knowledge of target tracking, sensor fusion, combat identification, threat evaluation, engagement planning, weapon-target assignment, or engagement timeline analysis
- Experience integrating with military C2 ecosystems, tactical networks, sensor/effector systems, or common tactical data/message standards
- Experience with AI/ML-enabled mission applications, including uncertainty, explainability, human-machine teaming, performance characterization, and operational test considerations
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, cloud/edge deployment, containerized services, distributed data architectures, and degraded or disconnected operations
