About the Role

Develop test hardware and software, from requirements definition through build and integration processes, followed by deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities. This role involves project leadership, multi-disciplinary design, and integration across communications, RF, analog, digital, firmware, and systems domains.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplined team through program execution and deployment, including schedule development, tracking, and managing deviations.
  • Propose and bid on new technologies to foster business growth.
  • Design, support, and integrate test hardware/software using tools such as NI TestStand, LabVIEW, and LabWindows (CVI).
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of computer architecture, COTS equipment, interconnects/interfaces, and standard communication protocols.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering to design test adapters and fixturing (AutoCAD knowledge a plus).
  • Prepare and present work products at project status meetings, including leading Preliminary and Detailed Design Reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Function autonomously as an individual contributor within a multi-functional team environment.
  • Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting, debugging, and training for production teams.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering design and development, with leadership experience, preferably in Test equipment development.
  • Experience working in engineering laboratories and transitioning automated solutions to production environments, including delivering hardware/software and providing on-site training.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-discipline team.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills for both individual and team-based tasks.
  • Experience with National Instruments’ software suite, including TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW.
  • Hardware station design experience utilizing rack instrumentation, PXIe/MXI, and VME application development.
  • Experience with Digital, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware/software design.
  • Technical writing skills (MS Word, Excel, Visio) and understanding of engineering processes (CMMI, Six Sigma).
  • Mechanical Engineering skill-set with experience in Cadence and/or AutoCAD design tools.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Eligible employees may participate in annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, depending on role level and collective-bargaining agreements.
