This onsite position in Fulton, MD requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance, with an active clearance required from day one. Some travel to customer sites will be necessary.

About the role

As a principal systems engineer, you will focus on systems modeling and analysis for challenging software development projects. You will contribute to advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and Visualization technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, and code critical capabilities in an active Agile environment.
  • Develop innovative features for new real-time situational awareness Command & Control (C2) systems.
  • Collaborate in a team environment to design, architect, and innovate software solutions.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Travel to customer sites for demos, integration, and support.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Systems Analyst/System Engineer in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Working knowledge of developing system models and simulations, and complex algorithmic solutions in tools such as MATLAB.
  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or another Engineering-related discipline.
  • Experience with Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems, or Combat/Fire Control systems.
  • Experience with radar sensor integration, track filtering, track management techniques, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning technologies.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $118,300 – $224,900 USD. The range reflects all experience levels, and RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
