Principal Systems Engineer

About the role

The Principal Systems Engineer will oversee tactical engineering activities to achieve system goals, coordinate and participate in design meetings and technical reviews, and support HPC installation and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and refine functional system models
• Incorporate relevant ISA specification
• Perform compiler-level analysis to map algorithms onto the architecture
• Assess structural code-framework issues and resolve ISA/compiler integration issues
• Generate credible performance estimates
• Identify capability gaps in proposed architectures and simulation capabilities
• Connect architectural assumptions to algorithm outcomes
• Support mission-informed assessment of system capability

Requirements

• Specialized expertise in logical architecture assessment, quantum algorithm simulation, architecture-aware performance modeling, ISA/compiler analysis, and system-level benchmarking
• Three (3) years of experience with an agency or HPC development program
• Fifteen (15) years of experience in technical roles for Government or industry customer
• Ten (10) years of experience as a system engineer supporting programs to develop and field large-scale systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical discipline from an accredited college or university
• May substitute four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of a degree
