About the role

CSEngineering is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our growing team and support Digital Ecosystem Systems Engineering functions within a federal government environment. The selected candidate will provide expert systems engineering support, contribute to digital engineering initiatives, and support mission-critical programs involving complex technical, operational, and programmatic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert systems engineering advice and support to section leadership.
  • Model system requirements, functions, components, interfaces, and test cases.
  • Participate in systems engineering working groups.
  • Provide support to programmatic and technical briefings, reports, and other related documentation.
  • Regularly engage with Government and Digital Engineering team members.
  • Integrate and execute the digital strategy baseline and provide digital ecosystem recommendations and solutions to a wide customer base.
  • Provide systems engineering support within a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Establish and maintain foundational data and contract data management disciplines.
  • Support requirements management, systems modeling, digital engineering, and related systems engineering activities.
  • Operate effectively across a variety of changing technical, operational, and programmatic network classifications and environments.
  • Plan and prioritize work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

  • Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6 years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree.
  • Experience providing systems engineering support in complex technical environments.
  • Detail-oriented leader with the ability to establish and maintain foundational data and contract data management disciplines.
  • Experience drafting, routing, and interpreting Contracting Authority correspondence.
  • Familiarity with requirements management, or willingness to learn DOORS.
  • Familiarity with systems modeling, or willingness to learn Cameo/MagicDraw.
  • Experience operating under a variety of changing technical, operational, and programmatic network classifications and environments.
  • Familiarity with SysML and UPDM, or willingness to learn SysML and UPDM.
  • Demonstrated self-discipline and ability to plan and prioritize work independently.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Department of War-related experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Excellent cognitive, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Managerial experience operating in a high-tempo environment.
  • Experience with Department of War acquisition programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Digital Ecosystems and/or Digital Engineering, including development and knowledge-based application.
  • Experience or familiarity implementing architectural frameworks using SysML.
  • Experience with requirements management and systems modeling tools such as DOORS and Cameo/MagicDraw.

Location: Hill Air Force Base, Utah (Onsite)
Travel: Less than 10%
